The objective of this masterclass is to introduce social sector professionals to systems thinking as an avenue for tackling ‘wicked’ problems or in other words to bring about systems change and how that change might be brought about. Under systems change we dwell on mental models that cause wicked problems, root cause discovery and agency creation.

Conducted by

Shakti Saran is a writer, educator and systems thinker. His work experience spans four decades across the corporate and social sectors. He is an alum of the leadership programs at India Leaders for Social Sector (ILSS) and Radical Transformation Leadership (RTL) and holds certifications in systems thinking from eCornell and the Capra Course. He is the founder of Shaktify, a think-tank to empower changemakers. Shaktify promotes social and environmental change through webinars, storytelling and masterclasses. Shakti is an MBA from Boston University.

Target Audience & Eligibility

This masterclass is designed for social sector professionals and students enrolled in a social sciences or liberal arts programme. It is geography and theme neutral and relevant for those who wish to transform social systems. Social sector professionals include those working for Non-Governmental Organisations, Non-Profit Organizations, Foundations, Social Enterprises, Social Finance and Social Innovation outfits.

Prior participation in Course 101 is recommended but not a pre-requisite.
