Ecoliteracy 101 Reconnecting with Planet Earth

Why Ecoliteracy
If we do not know the basic functions of the planet upon which we stand, we cannot expect to thrive or even live. The laws of the physical universe will not tolerate our ignorance, and we are seeing the effects of our abuses every single day. Planetary overheating alone has led to sea level rise and back-to-back 100-year storms affecting every person on the planet. Knowing the ‘Why?’ of our planet points us to ‘What needs to be done’
What we will cover
Are we fighting the status quo of human behavior or do we need to become aware of the systems of Earth to make our work easier and in concert with one another? The aim of this workshop is to help the participant identify the various aspects of what makes Earth function, at what level of health, and with what assistance from her inhabitants. The application of these considerations is at the very heart of local and bioregional decisions every single day—whether the lack of a code which protects trees or land or the awareness of the damage created by careless development.
Key benefits
Becoming knowledgeable about the way Earth works makes it easier to choose an action or create a program which will benefit both Planet and People. By having a basic knowledge of how our home planet works, the student will discover reasons to become active at any level.
Join Eco literacy guide, Mark Haubner to learn how to reconnect with this amazing home, Earth, and become a keystone species with benefits and great ancestors for our grandchildren’s grandchildren. Come prepared with your own thoughts and plans to implement a Nature-based Solution in your community to solve an issue with which you are concerned.
